Mohamed Saltou, Libya, August 2018
Nigeria’s centre-backs vs. Mohamed Anis Saltou: The Al Ahli Tripoli frontman offers genuine presence with his towering figure, and that could make for an uncomfortable evening for Gernot Rohr’s centre-back pairing – expected to be Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong. The former lacks match fitness having failed to feature for Brighton & Hove Albion since late August, while the latter’s form has dipped in recent weeks with Udinese after a bright start. Saltou, on the other hand, already has a goal to his name in qualifying (in a 5-1 win over Seychelles) and was a threat against the South Africans last time out as well.
